An artist friend of mine,
Brian C. Hailes, has recently created a children's book titled "
Skeleton Play". I would highly recommend purchasing the book on Amazon for your kids around Halloween-time. It is a great book that approaches the subject of death from a different and mostly fun perspective. Similar to Brian, I lost a child at the tender age of five months and I can greatly appreciate the approach he is taking.
"Follow a zany assemblage of skeletons on a whimsical journey through the hereafter to find answers to the ultimate questions. Do skeletons dream? And what would they do if brought back to life?"
Skeleton Play is a Halloween-themed children's picture book designed to help children and parents better cope with death. In a fun and engaging way, it helps promote the idea that death doesn't have to be a dark or scary thing; it is a part of everyday life and the Other Side doesn't have to be feared or shrouded with gloom or negativity. It can be viewed as a happy, joyful, and colorful place where our loved ones who have passed on live in happiness and fulfillment.
